I can think of a number of adjectives to describe my first week in Shanghai.
interesting
challenging
frustrating
cold
busy
nostalgic
chaotic
In any case, it is undeniable that being given the opportunity to come back to China for a few weeks is something to be grateful for and I am quite determined to enjoy my stay as much as I can.

Though lumpia or spring rolls are definitely Chinese in origin, lumpiang Shanghai are interestingly not really from Shanghai. Or so they say. Thus, I was very surprised to see lumpiang Shanghai among the dishes served for breakfast. Lesson learned: do not judge a lumpia by its cover.

I cannot stop laughing the first time I realized how the hotel name sounds when said out loud. (Might require some knowledge of pinyin to get the full extent of this but you’d still have an idea, I’m sure.) I love it love it love it!
