Must be fate then. Read on.

Or perhaps…

…I should start a business. But the bigger question is what?

A used bookstore cum ukay-ukay shop sounds like something I would actually want to own. “We sell everything used but still usable.” But I would need a good location. Near a university, perhaps.

Or I could start a tutorial service of sorts. Hire fresh graduates to teach by the hour. Teaching elementary school kids first. Then maybe expand to include high school.

Or how about starting a job search agency? Sort of like a small-scale headhunter type. Blue-collar jobs first: drivers, maids, nannies, delivery people; and then office jobs: secretaries, clerks, encoders, etc. It’ll be like a match-making service! Except between employers and employees!

And what’s wrong with a real match-making service of the romantic kind? We had organized speed dating events before. Why not have a semi-regular singles party? Maybe once every other month? Hey, wait a sec. This could actually work!! So um, who wants to be my business partner? Anyone?

OMG used bookstore!!! If I had that kind of money I would be your business partner. That’s like my ultimate awesomest fantasy! (to be part of a used book store, not being a business partner :P )

I know!! Owning a used bookstore is one of my long-time dreams. But it’s not exactly a good business venture. At least not here. We don’t exactly have a reading culture. *sighs

    much love,

I note some discussion of business partners in Aust or NZ. It sounds interesting. We shall see what comes of this. I think u would find one in Aust if u looked…..

Oooh! Nice. I think I will need to find profitable work first before I brave the business world in either Australia or New Zealand. But we’ll see.

i would suggest lending… lend to officemates for tuition etc…
used bookstore, interesting, but nobody really reads for reading sake…

Umm… 5-6? I’m not very comfortable with the idea of lending money, especially for profit. It’s essentially making money out of other people’s strife. Of course it can be argued that it’s helping them reach their own goals…

I remember reading about how a number of rural micro-financing programs have become successful when they lent to women… That actually sounds exciting… Maybe I could do something like that one day. I will need to have lots and lots of money to lend first!!
